Youth and Family Programs

Ada Township Parks & Recreation Department Programs:
The Ada Township Parks & Recreation Department offers winter programs geared toward preschoolers, youth, adults and families:
• "Discovery Days" programs are for preschoolers ages 3-5 (with a parent or guardian), and most programs cost $5.00 and are held at Ada Park. Winter 2015 Dates: Gifts for the Animals-12/10 & 12/11, Wonderful Winter-1/14 & 1/15, Bird Feeders-2/11 & 2/12, and Owls-3/11 & 3/12.
• "Junior Naturalist" programs are for youth ages 7-11. Snowshoe Stomp will be held 1/31 at Ada Park from 10 a.m. until 12/Noon ($5.00).
• Other youth, adult and family programs include: Cross Country Skiing-Just the Basics 1/10 from 10 a.m until 12/Noon ($5.00) at Roselle Park (bring your own equipment); Home for the Birds-Build a Birdhouse 2/7 from 10 a.m. until 12/Noon. ($10.00 fee-materials will be provided); and Live Bird of Prey-A Bird's Eye View, Thursday 3/15 from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. ($5.00).

The Ada Township Parks & Recreation Department offers various family-friendly events throughout the year. Programs/events include: Naturalist-Led Walks; Discovery Days, Junior Naturalist, Young Explorers, Spring/Summer Day Camps, July 4th Fireworks; Family Day at the Parks; Spring River Clean Up Days; Free Fall Community Festival: Roselle Park River Festival and The GRAND RIVER RUN 8K, 5K and 2K; Bats of the World (Fall), Fall Preschool Programs, Children's Garden, Winter Events and Programming (cross country skiing, ice skating, snow shoe stomp); and, much more! Schools Based Programs:
Opportunities for PreK-12 schools range from guided field trips in the Parks ($2), to service learning projects (free), to shelter facilities for rent ($25/day). Contact the Park Office for details, curriculum, fees and scheduling.
Boy and Girl Scout Programs:
Scout groups are welcome to the resources of Ada Parks and staff to help complete badge requirements, conduct field trip outings, conduct service projects, or rental of a facility. Contact the Park Office for details, curriculum, fees and scheduling.
