What Is a Water System Quality Report?

Consumer Confidence Reports are developed to comply with the right-to-know provisions in the 1996 Amendments to the Safe Drinking Water Act. The Amendments contain several provisions aimed at improving public information about drinking water, including the annual public water system compliance report (Consumer Confidence Report). The Safe Drinking Water Act is administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and its state partner, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ).

The report must contain information on the quality of the water delivered and characterize the risks (if any) from exposure to contaminants detected in the drinking water. Every community water system has an obligation to ensure that their customers receive the required information by July 1st for sampling results from the previous calendar year. In order to comply with this regulation, a copy of the Consumer Confidence Report is mailed annually to our customers.

Should you have questions regarding the sampling data provided in the report, or want more information concerning the Source Water Assessment, please contact: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
